What's New on the Web

November was another remarkable month for TOC's Web site traffic, coming close to the all-time high set in October. The site continues to retain its increased audience after the September terrorist attacks, with November averaging 70 percent more visitors than in the months prior to September.

Patrick Stephens's commentary on human cloning, "Cloning: Toward a New Conception of Humanity?" received a tremendous amount of attention from Web visitors after the announcement by Advanced Cell Laboratory that they had cloned a human embryo. Stephens's related commentary on stem-cell research also had an increase in viewers.

There were many new additions to the Web site in November, including new commentaries for the special section "Assault on Civilization" by Roger Donway, Shawn E. Klein, Will Thomas, and Patrick Stephens. The Objectivism Store added the newly released Ayn Rand and Business by Donna Greiner and Theodore Kinni to its online offerings. In addition, The Objectivism Store is selling the TOC LIVE! tapes from the 2001 summer seminar online as supplies last. All of this is accessible from the center's Web site: www.ObjectivistCenter.org.

The biggest announcement for December 2001 is the Web site's new look. Not only has the appearance of the site changed, but the organization and structure of the site have been updated and new content has been added. Debuting in mid-January, this is the first major redesign of the center's Web site since 1999, when the center changed its name. In the upcoming year, new features will be added to the site, including a members-only section. Please feel free to send feedback on the new site to Shawn E. Klein at webmaster@objectivistcenter.org
